Q: What is GeekaChicas?

A: GeekaChicas is a website specifically for that rarest of all internet creatures, the female geek.

Q: Who are the GeekaChicas writers?

A: If the partly fictitious bios on the About Us page didn't satisfy your curiosity, let me just say that the GeekaChicas crew is a collection of the most intelligent, funny and accomplished women you are likely to meet. We are a diverse group with varying interests and opinions, but we have one thing in common—we're all geeks.

Q: Some of your content doesn't seem all that geeky to me. What exactly do you think a Geek is?

A: Here at GeekaChicas, we define a ‘geek’ as any person who knows a lot about a narrow subject. Here we have Lit Geeks, Gamer Geeks, Movie Geeks, History Geeks, Bug Geeks, Horse Geeks, Medical Geeks, IT Geeks, Art Geeks and the ever-popular Geeks of all Trades. Naturally, a large portion of our content is going to be in traditional Geek disciplines, such as technology, scif/fantasy, webcomics, comic books and the like. However, we regularly feature articles on non-traditional aspects of Geekdom, just to keep things interesting.

Q: I joined the site, and I've noticed that when I post comments on articles or on the Forum, I have a blobby question mark as an avatar. How do I change that to a picture?

A: Our site currently uses Gravatars. You can sign up for the free gravatar service at www.gravatar.com, upload your desired picture and link it to the email address you used to sign up here. That should change Mr. Blobby to the image of your choice. Be advised that we will still filter explicit images or anything we deem offensive.

Q: I would like to write for GeekaChicas. What do I do?

A: We'd love to see what you can do! Email the webmistress through the site via our Contact Us page, or by emailing her at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Q: Will the GeekaChicas show me their [body part] or [perform various acts] for my amusement?

A: No. There are plenty of geek girl sites geared toward a male audience, but this isn't one of them. Try geekgirlsonline, or suicidegirls, or one of the others. We Geekachicas support our naked sisters in their entrepreneurial pursuits, but our goals for this site are different.
