The unsung heroes-- these characters who aren't supposed to be the focus, but become impossible to send on their way! What would writer's do without them? - Amalia The Savage

I had that happen with a totally throw-away character once. His purpose was to kind of introduce the prejudices of his class and then fade gracefully away. But he wouldn't leave. He became the catalyst for all the action and now I have no idea how the story would have ended without him. - UberWench

That's happened with Theseus in this book, and in my last book too-- I had a minor character morph into my major villain. Out of Nowhere. - Amalia The Savage

Ooh! I love the history! Stories like this are always fun. :)

For me, I find that minor characters will jump up and make themselves into very important parts of the story. It's spooky. - Pixel Chick
